Javier Bosques (b. 1985 in Puerto Rico, lives and works in Chicago), studied visual arts at The Cooper Union in New York City and holds a masters in film directing from UCLA in Los Angeles. Bosques has been resident at Skowhegan School in Maine, 2008, and a Davidoff Arts Initiative fellow in Beijing, 2018. His work has been broadly exhibited, both in local and international institutions. Recent presentations of his work include : Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, San Juan, 2019 ; Palais de Tokyo, Paris, 2018 ; LAXART, Los Angeles, 2017 ; Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art, Chicago, 2017 ; Centro de Desarrollo de las Artes Visuales, La Habana, 2017. 2016 Bosques founded and co-directs Produce Model Gallery, a curatorial platform that provides agency to underrepresented discourses in the arts.
