Javier Bosques and Maggie Crowley come together in a two person show titled, Contracts. This exhibition explores the dualities of agreeing, negotiating and making decisions in the world. Through natural, emotional, physical, and felt agreements, the work is about engagements that are both literal and imagined. In one iteration, Crowley demonstrates a tangible human contract with the earth and questions how painting can eclipse the same euphoria induced by natural landscapes. The exhibition is an inquiry and a declaration. In it's contrarian dichotomy, how is expression contracted by another? How are contracts reciprocal and unknown?
